Dr Gordana Kierans
Circular Economy Trainer and Consultant for Government and Industry | Board Member | TEDx and International Speaker | Author
Dr Kierans has 25+ years of experience at leading Business Schools in Germany, as a professor at a university in China and as a corporate trainer and consultant. She has been teaching circular economy and sustainability topics for the last ten years to everyone from C-Suite to undergrad students in Europe, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and China.
She was born and raised in Croatia but has since lived for 25 years in other European countries (Italy, Germany, Belgium) before spending four years as a professor in Shenzhen, China. Presently, she is once again living in Croatia, this time in Crikvenica on the Adriatic coast.
She completed her studies in Germany, including her PhD in Business Administration. In addition, she is also an Alumna of the Harvard Kennedy School Executive Education. Her career commitment to a more sustainable world was recognised when she was invited to deliver a TEDx Talk in Groningen, the Netherlands.
Today, Dr Kierans continues to be the Managing Director of MGT OPEN. She also serves on the Supervisory Board of Circle Economy in Amsterdam and, since September 2025, has been an expert evaluator for circular economy applications under the European Commission’s Horizon EIC Accelerator programme.
